Album artwork and layout I created for the folk album Meorachadh (Reflection), by my talented mother and Celtic band, The Fire. The album collects both traditional and original folk songs, inspired by the musical history of the outer Scottish isles.
With the roots of most of these tunes dating back hundreds of years, themes of heritage and growth were central to the music and design alike. The mournful nature of many of the songs lent a misty and muted tone to the visuals. The pale blue serving as the design’s accent draws on this, as well, and from the somber seas that surround those ancient islands.
